We Have Lost a Dear Friend

With great sadness we announce that Cami (Camouflage) of Rancho Cordova, California peacefully passed away on 15 January 2008 in her twentieth year. She was originally from Des Moines, Washington where she lived with Rondi and Alice and Ronald and Natasha and Celeste and baby Chantal.

A beautiful calico with distinctive features, she could have won any beauty contest that she entered, but her reserved manner precluded her participation in such.

She was a sweet gentle kitty who never (to my knowledge) scratched or bit anyone. Very friendly with Bud, she would sit in his lap and help him read the paper. She loved to see Rondi and his family and, perhaps, mentally reminisce about her happy times with them.

Cami was very shy and would usually secrete herself in some quiet private spot when visitors appeared, rarely interacting with anyone. However, when JJ (Jeremy) came over she was happy to associate with him.

Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be made to your local SPCA.

Family and friends are welcome to leave comments on their associations and observances and memories of Cami.

So sorry to hear Tutu. Sadly, the cat, Lavender ("Luvender") that Sarah and I adopted 15 or so years ago also recently passed away. She was also a calico, though not nearly as colorful as Cami. I'm sure Cami will be dearly missed at your home. I remember her coming to check on us kids at night when we would stay the night at your house just to be sure everything was okay. What a sweet cat.

We recently lost our Angel, too. My girls and I adopted him about 15 years ago. He passed away this past Fall, peaefully, I hope, on the rug that our neighbor provided for him to sleep while in his yard. Our pets are like family. It's difficult to imagine not having them. I didn't get to know Cami because she was always "in hiding" when I was there. I got to talk to her a couple of times. I know you'll miss her.

well that is just sad to hear that was like the only cat I have ever liked. mostly for me cats are just hairy problems that lie around leaving their messy trail that sticks to everything and really cats are not the best pet...now that is just my opinion. I believe the best and only type of pet to have is fish, anykind of fish. I personally think it would be cool to have a jelly fish

I'm coming to Sacramento in a couple weeks, and I can't imagine the Turner household without Cami. True, I've been visiting there long before Cami was born, but for years and years and years she has been a part of my visits. I know that you will miss her every day, Jeannie & Bud. I'll miss hearing her "meow" when I would be the first one up, and she would want food, but I would just look at her and say, "Better wait for Jeannie and Bud." She will not be forgotten! Love from Cami's Great-Aunt Judi.
